New heavy duty pontoon at Gairlochy marina, Scotland

Gairlochy Marina

Working alongside MacKenzie Construction, we supplied and delivered two of our robust 20m heavy duty pontoons to Gairlochy Marina as part of a much-needed infrastructure upgrade along the Caledonian Canal.

This installation replaces the marina’s original pontoon system, which had served the area for over 30 years. Designed to offer improved stability and safety, the new system enhances the experience for both local and visiting boaters passing through Loch Lochy. Due to limited land access at the site, pontoons were carefully towed into position from across the canal – a logistical challenge our team managed with precision.

To meet the needs of this remote site, the project included:

  • Two 20 metre heavy duty pontoons
  • Two 10m x 1.2m and two 9m x 1.2m finger pontoons
  • 5m x 1.5m access bridge; and
  • Two pile guides for mooring stability

Our patented non-slip GRP decking ensures safe and secure access in all conditions, while the heavy-duty build provides lasting durability in this exposed and busy waterway.

The upgrade at Gairlochy Marina improves not only access and safety for boaters but supports the long-term functionality of one of Scotland’s most scenic inland waterways.
