From oyster reef restoration and Living Seawalls to durable GRC decking, we’ll be showcasing how innovative pontoon design can make waterfront infrastructure work harder at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show.
Inland and Coastal is returning to the Southampton International Boat Show from 18–27 September 2026, where you’ll find us alongside The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) on Stand H208 in the New Wave Hall.
This year, we’ll be putting the versatility of the humble pontoon centre stage – demonstrating how thoughtful design and simple adaptations can deliver benefits that extend well beyond providing access to and mooring boats.
Pontoons that do more
One of the projects we’ll be highlighting is our oyster pontoon, developed in collaboration with Ulster Wildlife to support the restoration of native oysters.
The specially adapted pontoon incorporates a submerged platform beneath the deck where juvenile native oysters can be established, allowing essential marina infrastructure to perform its usual function while simultaneously creating an opportunity to support marine biodiversity.
We’ll also be talking about Living Seawalls, which bring habitat-enhancing technology to marine infrastructure. The panels introduce complex surface textures and features that provide additional habitat for marine life including invertebrates, seaweeds and small fish.
Together, these projects demonstrate the potential for existing and new waterfront infrastructure to deliver more for the marine environment without compromising its primary purpose.
Built for performance
It’s not all about what happens below the waterline.
We’ll also be showcasing our Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) decking, a hard-wearing, low-maintenance pontoon decking solution designed to withstand demanding marine environments.
Combining durability with a timber-effect finish, GRC provides marinas with an alternative decking solution designed for long-term performance without the maintenance requirements associated with traditional timber.
