Albert Marina

Ireland

Project Summary

In 2006, we supplied and installed over 1km of floating pontoons to a single project, creating the impressive Albert Marina, a man-made inlet of the River Shannon, County Roscommon, Ireland.

Built parallel to the Jamestown Canal (which serves as a by-pass to an unnavigable part of the River Shannon) this project was particularly ambitious because of the excavation required to create the marina basin.

15 years on, our standard leisure marina pontoons with GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete) pontoon decking have stood the test of time, having welcomed many local recreational boaters as well as those passing though.

One of our flagship projects, showcasing the scope and scale of projects we can undertake, Albert Marina has generated significant benefit to the wider community by bringing tourism and employment to this region of Ireland.
