Project Summary
Members of Lee Rowing Club have had continuous safe, dry and easy access to the River Lee for their on-water training sessions since the installation of a 30m x 6m rowing pontoon.
Client | Cork City Council |
Date | June 2015 |
Where | Cork City, Ireland |
Working with main contractor L&M Keating on behalf of Cork City Council, we designed the bespoke rowing pontoon to improve the existing water access, via a fixed concrete slipway, which was in poor condition and was causing safety concerns.
The new pontoon, with 150mm of freeboard offering easy entry and exit from rowing boats, is accessed via a ramp 24m long and 3m wide, designed specifically to ensure skulls and rowing boats could be turned and carried safely to the pontoon for launching.
