After undertaking a rigorous tender process, we were selected on the basis of offering a complete package that included our excellent inland river pontoon system, mooring piles and full services package that included individual bollards providing water and electric to each berth and a overall foul pump out facility connected to the landside drainage system.
As part of the installation, the client requested a dual security access system, biomatrix reed beds and fish refuges, as well as special provision for cycle storage.
The client was particularly impressed with our 2.4m wide wood effect GRC decking, which as well as its obvious aesthetic appeal, also provides an extended design life of over 30 years. The decking is low maintenance yet offers a highly durable surface appreciated by berth holders for its stability and grip.
The project required us to operate in a location with highly restricted access, with densely developed wharfs lining either side of the man-made cut making offloading and deploying installation equipment tricky. During the project we were also considerate of local wildlife issues, seeking specialist advice where needed to ensure that nesting areas were respected.
“Despite challenges with access to the cut, we were able to implement each stage of the project with great success,” says Jon Challis, Sales Manager at ICMS.
