Project Summary

Working with Mallaig RNLI, we manufactured and installed a new pontoon for its Severn Class All-Weather Lifeboat.

Where Mallaig Harbour, Inverness-shire

Completed in July 2021, the new pontoon was built in a ‘U’ shape to allow the lifeboat to berth in between against the 2m x 0.6m inflatable fenders fitted to the sides’ inner faces.

The units, which comprised the pontoon, were manufactured and assembled offsite and delivered completed so they could be lifted straight from the lorry and positioned into position without delay.

Topped with anti-slip GRP decking, the new pontoon and bridge system offers Mallaig RNLI Lifeboat Station a more stable platform to access its Severn class lifeboat.

We were delighted to take part in this project, providing a safe and secure landing stage for the crew when they are launching to assist water users in the local area.
