Unstable and in poor condition with the slippery timber decking, the existing start pontoons were no longer fit for purpose. We designed and built heavier, low freeboard rowing pontoons, topped with a GRP decking, providing a stable platform with a non-slip surface ideal for launching canoes and rowing boats.

As access to the site for cranes and installation equipment was limited, we assembled the pontoons prior to delivery and towed them down the loch to their final position.

Still going strong, the facilities continue to host elite events as well as provide safe and stable water access for other local on water users.
