Decked with Timber Effect GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete) and accessible via a new 24m x 1.25m bridge, the unit also has high level security lighting and service bollards with power and water. As the highest tide level is close to the height of the quay, we designed a bespoke cantilever platform which lifts the bridge to 1m above quay height, ensuring constant access, no matter what the height of the tide.

Completed for the Harbour Commission, this large floating pontoon is mainly used for safe access and agrees to the quayside for cruise ship tenders bringing passengers ashore, visiting yachts and leisure craft as well as occasionally by the RNLI.

“The majority of yachtsmen that come in say that it is one of the best pontoons they have ever moored on, stable, non-slip and a high freeboard so they do not have to jump down from their yachts on to the pontoon deck."
— Scott Ferguson, Harbour Master
